Boeing F-15 Eagle

Hasagawa 1:48 Scale

I first picked up this kit because of the Eglin Decals that came with it. Thought it would be fun to model a aircraft from a near by base.
100_4384.JPG (754608 bytes) 100_4385.JPG (732970 bytes) Then I saw these decals and decided that this is what I wanted to do with this model. The decals were hard to get as they had just gone out of production.
100_4316.JPG (627885 bytes) 100_4317.JPG (696362 bytes) 100_4318.JPG (650239 bytes) 100_4319.JPG (786293 bytes) Again you start in the cockpit. Again Hasagawa turns out a good injection cockpit for their kit.
100_4379.JPG (469917 bytes) 100_4381.JPG (533470 bytes) 100_4382.JPG (481562 bytes) Again Hasagawa has put out a kit that practically falls together quite nicely. As you can see by the 18" ruler that this is no small kit.
100_4398.JPG (693494 bytes) 100_4397.JPG (660282 bytes) The only snag I hit was the cockpit canopy. It had a seam running down the middle of it. (I have run into the same problem on other large Hasagawa kits) A little sanding and future floor wax later I had a good canopy.
100_4857.JPG (717453 bytes) 100_4858.JPG (749682 bytes) The model now has it's base coat on and ready for the camo next
100_4887.JPG (492659 bytes) 100_5176.jpg (114651 bytes) 100_5177.jpg (117648 bytes) While waiting for better weather to paint in (I paint my models in the garage and it has been to cold) I worked on the missiles for this model. I also picked up some decals for the missiles. An investment well worth it in the large scales.
